Volume loss in the hands is one of the hallmarks of aging. Often the hands are neglected as most people focus on facial treatments.

Injection of filler can restore volume loss on the back of the hands for a more youthful appearance. Results are immediate and correction can last for up to one year, possibly longer. The most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising which can last up to one week.

A mild to moderate amount of skin laxity also referred to as “loose skin” can make you a great candidate for hand rejuvenation. Many clients are good candidates. The current condition of your skin is very important to consider. To see if you are a good candidate for this treatment, schedule an in-office consultation.

Before treatment we first apply a specialized topical numbing cream to the backs of your hands for 20 to 30 minutes. The injections themselves take approximately 10 to 20 minutes to perform.  After injecting the product, we will massage each hand to ensure the HA filler is properly distributed.

Are the treatments painful?

We provide a customized compound numbing cream for our clients. Topical numbing cream is applied to each hand for approximately 20-30 minutes prior to start of the procedure. Our best in class filler contains lidocaine to enhance treatment comfort.

Are there side effects? Will I have down time following the treatment?

The most common side effects are temporary bruising, swelling, and tenderness that can last for up to 1-2 weeks. We instruct clients to limit strenuous physical activity involving their hands for the first 24-48 hours post-procedure. Avoiding certain medications and supplements, such as baby aspirin and fish oil, can minimize bruising.

How long can I expect the results to last?

Results are immediate and can last up to 1 year, or even longer in some clients.
